SCM is a multidisciplinary UK based quantity surveying, commercial management and dispute resolution company established with a clear intent to offer clients a flexible and innovative approach to both contentious and non-contentious commercial matters across the Construction Industry.
With offices in London and Hampshire, the team brings together a healthy balance of experienced industry professionals and the next generation of commercial staff, offering three distinct areas of specialism across the EMEA region (other regions can be discussed): structures (both sub and super structure), general contracting / client side and most notably for your business, Building Services.
The respective areas of specialism benefit from discipline specific staff all of whom have strong backgrounds from either specialist Sub-Contractors or Main Contractors, overseen by our Managing Director.
Non-contentious services include estimating and bid management, contract reviews and negotiations, pre and post contract administration of projects, commercial and contractual awareness training, cost planning and feasibility studies and the establishment of business or project controls / risk reviews.
Whilst the claims preparation aspect is covered by the non-contentious services, with project level QSs being adept at producing and particularising initial notices, details, and submissions, given the background of our MD, such work more often than not receives a direct hands-on approach from him to ensure the claims stand the test of time under the Contract and / or dispute resolution processes.
Contentious services include any pre action matters, preparation, or peer reviews of claims, providing strategies to avoid disputes, leading adjudications as a party representative or assisting external legal support in the administration of formal procedures including drafting and agreeing instructions on behalf of the client and are lead by our Managing Director.
